The legendary two-act ballet, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky after E.T.A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" will be presented again on the stage of the Festival Concert Hall and danced by children!

The performance will include 59 dancers ranging from 2nd grade through high school along with professional guest performers. For the first time, the production will include 8 young dancers from the local area. The dancers are students of Libby Lovejoy, Director of Dance at our Dance Institute. The children hail from Round Top, La Grange, Ammansville and Brenham.

After the performance, the staff at Menke House invite you to join us as we transport you and your children to the Sugar Plum Fairy's "Kingdom of Sweets." Experience the joy on your children's faces as they meet and have their picture taken with members of the cast, enjoy delightful snacks, enchanting sweets and holiday inspired beverages. Reservations are limited; please purchase your tickets early.

Located in historic Round Top, Texas, The James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts and its sole project, the Round Top Festival Institute, were founded in 1971 by world-renowned concert pianist James Dick. Begun with a handful of gifted young pianists in rented space on the town square, the project is now an internationally acclaimed European-styled music institute for aspiring young musicians and distinguished faculty.
